There are currently six crematoria on the island of Ireland.

Roselawn Cemetery is in Belfast, Northern Ireland, one in Cavan, one in Cork and the remaining three in Dublin.

Adult cremation fee: £360 (€488)

Cremation fees vary, if the deceased was a Belfast resident the charge is £360 (€488). Non-residents are £595 (€807). There is no charge for stillborn or children under one year. There is a £170 (€231) levy for Saturday and public holidays.

The hire of the Crematorium funeral church for a 30 minute service (open to all denominations and none) is £230m (€312).

Cremations are available between 8.30am to 5pm weekdays and from 8.30am to 5pm on Saturdays. There are no cremations on Sundays.

It is located within the grounds of Roselawn Cemetery on the Ballygowan Road, Crossnacreevy, just outside Belfast.

If the deceased is a life member of the Cremation Society of Great Britain or the Cremation Assurance Friendly Society, the fee will be recovered from the society.

Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium, Cavan

Adult cremation fee: €650

The fee for a deceased adult is €650 and includes an urn. The funeral home has two rooms for services. The larger room can accommodate up to 160 people, while the smaller room holds up to 45 people. These rooms can also be joined together to create a larger space.

The crematorium opened in the summer of 2015. The crematorium and remembrance garden are available seven days a week. There is no weekend or bank holiday surcharge.

Mount Jerome Cemetery and Crematorium, Dublin

Adult cremation fee: €400

The adult cremation fee is €400. For stillborn and infants the fee is €160. There is an environmental fee of €50 (which is not applicable if the deceased is stillborn or a child less than one year old).

The charge for hiring the chapel for a service is €90 for the first time slot and €120 for the second time slot.

There is a levy of €180 for bank holidays.

Cremation funerals that include the service (no prior service in a parish church, hospital mortuary/chapel, funeral home) are only available from 9-10am and 2-4pm on weekdays. Mount Jerome asks that afternoon civil celebrant full services take place between 3.30-4pm.

Glasnevin Trust Cemetery and Crematorium, Dublin

Adult cremation fee: €630

The fee for an adult cremation is €630, this includes a standard polymer urn to contain the ashes. If you would like a wooden casket the cost is €665. There is an additional fee of €30 if the cremation is not arranged through Glasnevin Trust’s online funeral arranging system.

Cremation of a child up to 12 years old is €430, this includes a baby urn. If you choose a wooden casket the cost is €450. If the deceased is a stillborn child the fee is €330.

If the cremation takes place on a bank holiday there is a surcharge of €300 and a €220 extra fee for Saturdays.

Island Crematorium, Cork

Adult cremation fee: €745

The fee for an adult cremation is €745. This includes a 20 minute committal service in the chapel and an eco-friendly ashes container made from card. There is an extra charge of €150 for Saturday services, and an extra charge of €200 for bank holidays. There are no services or cremations on Sunday.

If the deceased is a child aged 12 years or less there is no charge for cremation, for use of the chapel or for an eco-friendly ashes container.

The chapel has 90 seats and can also accommodate up to 100 people standing. Island Crematorium allows 60 minutes per booking and gives 60 minutes between services for family privacy.
